Last week, I got a chance to test the Super Shipping For WooCommerce plugin first-hand and I’m convinced that it’s the ultimate shipping solution for any WooCommerce store struggling with inaccurate shipping rates, decreasing customer satisfaction, and revenue loss due to constant cart abandonments.
With the Super Shipping For WooCommerce plugin, you can:
- Create complex shipping rules
- Define custom shipping zones
- Set up weight and dimension-based shipping
- Generate shipping labels, estimate shipping costs
- Integrate with multiple shipping providers, and
- Automate shipping processes
…all from a single, user-friendly interface.
In the following review, I will dig deeper into the plugin’s offerings and how it can revolutionize your WooCommerce store’s shipping operations.
Let’s dive in.
Why Makes Shipping For WooCommerce a Great Shipping Solution
Let’s take a quick dive into the plugin’s features:
1. Dynamic Shipping Rate Setup
With Super Shipping for WooCommerce, you can create complex shipping rules based on various conditions, including weight, volume, price, or units. This allows you to apply shipping rates provided by the shipping carrier or courier service (such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL) to specific products or product groups, giving you complete control over your shipping costs.
For example, an online retailer selling lightweight apparel and heavy machinery can create separate shipping rules. A flat rate of $5 can be applied to apparel weighing under 1lb, while a weight-based rate is applied to heavier machinery.
2. Flexible Shipment Calculation Options
This feature is a game-changer for stores with diverse product offerings. You can calculate separate shipping rates for each product or group of products, suppliers, or even Dropshipping orders. This ensures that you are offering accurate and competitive shipping rates to your customers.
For instance, a WooCommerce store selling books, electronics, and furniture can calculate separate shipping rates for each category. Books can be shipped at a flat rate, electronics at a weight-based rate, and furniture at a dimensional weight rate.
3. Advanced Free Shipping Options
Offer your customers free shipping on orders above a certain amount, or based on specific conditions such as weight, volume, price, or product units. With Super Shipping, you can define custom free shipping rules that fit your business needs and incentivize customers to make larger purchases.
For example, a WooCommerce store can offer free shipping on orders over $50 or on purchases of 10+ units of a specific product. This incentivizes customers to buy more, increasing the average order value.
4. Accurate Volumetric Weight Calculation
For products that are lightweight but have high volume, the plugin allows you to calculate shipping costs based on volumetric weight. This is especially useful for stores that sell items with unusual dimensions, ensuring that you can provide accurate shipping quotes to your customers.
For instance, a WooCommerce store selling large, lightweight packages (e.g. pillows or foam inserts) can accurately calculate shipping costs using volumetric weight. This prevents undercharging for shipping, reduces losses, and ensures customers receive accurate quotes.
5. Import-Export Shipping Rules
The plugin makes it easy to manage your shipping rules with its import and export features. Simply request the rate table from your shipping carrier or courier service and import it to your store with just one click using a CSV file. This saves you time and effort and ensures that your shipping rates are always up-to-date.
6. Role-Based Shipping Rates
You can apply different shipping rates based on user roles allowing you to sell to both businesses and end customers. Set restricted shipping costs for specific user groups, ensuring that you can offer customized shipping options to your customers.
For instance, a WooCommerce store sells to both individual customers and businesses. With Super Shipping, they can set a discounted shipping rate for business customers (e.g. 10% off) and a standard rate for individual customers.
7. Multi-Carrier Support
You can offer customers multiple shipping options with different prices and delivery times. Add as many shipping methods as you want, and let your customers choose the one that suits their needs. This is perfect for stores that want to offer flexible shipping options.
For example, a WooCommerce store offers multiple shipping options: USPS for standard delivery, UPS for expedited delivery, and FedEx for international shipping. With Super Shipping, customers can choose their preferred carrier and delivery speed, increasing satisfaction and reducing cart abandonment. Such flexibilities are going to attract price-sensitive and time-sensitive customers to your store.

After purchasing the plugin, download it from your Super Shipping account onto your local computer.
Then open your WordPress dashboard and upload the plugin by going to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Install Now.
After installation, you should see a WooCommerce Super Shipping option appear on your WooCommerce menu. Select that, and you will be taken to the license page.
Get your unique license from your Super Shipping account, add it to your website, and hit the Activate button.
ii. Configure Shipping Zone & Rules
One of the first things you need to do is set up the shipping zones and shipping costs for your store.
On your WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce → Shipping → Shipping Zones and hit the Add Zone button.
On the next page, create a shipping zone by adding the following information:
- Zone name: Allows you to distinguish one zone from another and it’s only visible to admins.
- Zone regions: Define the exact region that the shipping zone covers, which can be a continent, a country, a state, or a province/region.
- Shipping methods: Add the shipping method that you want to assign to the shipping zone. Be sure to select the Super Shipping option when creating a shipping method.
On the Super Shipping page, add a name to the shipping method, then review the other options and make modifications, as per your requirements.
Then scroll down to the Shipping Rules section and start adding new shipping rules using the Add Rule button.
Also, add an extra shipping fee in the Shipping Extra Fees section using the Add New Fee button.

Use Case: Configuring 2 Shipping Carriers in the Same Shipping Zone
So far we have discussed the basic settings for the plugin. However, these configurations may differ from one WooCommerce store to another based on different use cases.
In this section, I am going to quickly show you how to configure the plugin based on a specific use case to demonstrate the plugin’s capabilities.
Let’s say, in your WooCommerce store, you want to add two shipping carriers to the same shipping zone. Here’s how you’d go about configuring the shipping zone:
First, add a common shipping zone for both carriers. Example: Austria.
Then add two shipping methods, say ‘postal service’ and ‘DHL.’ The postal service is cheaper and takes 4-5 days to deliver products. DHL is fast and delivers within 24 hours.
In the Postal Service, I created 3 shipping rules –
Rule 1
- Shipping class: No class
- Condition: Price
- Range min-max: 0-20
- Cost: 3
This means that the rule applies to all products. If the total price of the order is between $0 and $20, the shipping cost will be $3.
Rule 2
- Shipping class: No class
- Condition: Price
- Range min-max: 20-100
- Cost: 5
This means that the rule applies to all products. If the total price of the order is between $20 and $100, the shipping cost will be $5.
Rule 3
- Shipping class: No class
- Condition: Price
- Range min-max: 100-*
- Cost: 0
This means that the rule applies to all products. If the total price of the order is $100 or more, the shipping cost will be $0 (i.e., free shipping).
In summary, the shipping rules are –
- Orders under $20; $3 shipping
- Orders between $20 and $100; $5 shipping
- Orders over $100; Free shipping
These rules will be applied to all products in the store, regardless of their shipping class.
In DHL, I created the following shipping rules –
Rule 1
- Shipping class: No class
- Condition: Price
- Range min-max: 0-50
- Cost: 5
Rule 2
- Shipping class: No class
- Condition: Price
- Range min-max: 50-*
- Cost: 9
On your WooCommerce store, when visitors want products to be delivered within Austria, and the products meet the above criteria when added to the cart, visitors are shown the two shipping zones to choose from before making payments.
That’s it, folks! Now you know how to configure the Super Shipping For WooCommerce plugin on your WooCommerce store.
